Men on Boats

Access Theater Black Box

SYNOPSIS
Ten explorers, one famous expedition. By destroying our historical, artistic, and gender expectations, Jaclyn Backhaus has created an ingenious riot of a script that guides us through John Wesley Powell’s nineteenth century epic conquest of The Grand Canyon.

After a sold out run at The Wild Project and Playwrights Horizons in 2016, Men on Boats comes back to NYC for only ten performances at Access Theater. This hilarious and widely acclaimed play teaches us about a key moment in American history, when we risked our lives for a chance to explore the unknown.
